Speaking of proclaiming God’s good news

To bless means to say good things.
We have to bless one another constantly.
Parents need to bless their children, children their parents,
husbands their wives, wives their husbands,
friends their friends.

In our society, so full of curses,
we must fill each place we enter with our blessings.
We forget so quickly that we are God’s beloved children
and so allow the many curses of our world to darken our hearts.
Therefore we have to be reminded of our belovedness
and remind others of theirs.
Whether the blessing is given in words or with gestures,
in a solemn or an informal way,
our lives need to be blessed lives.

Henri Nouwen

Give praise to the Lord, proclaim His name;
make known among the nations what He has done.

Psalm 105:1

We use lights to make manifest.
A Christian should so shine in his life,
that a person could not live with him a week without knowing the gospel.
His conversation should be such that all who are about him should clearly perceive whose he is, and whom he serves; and should see the image of Jesus reflected in his daily actions…

Lights also have a very cheering influence, and so have Christians.
A Christian ought to be a comforter,
with kind words on his lips,
and sympathy in his heart;
he should carry sunshine wherever he goes,
and diffuse happiness around him.

Charles Spurgeon
