Speaking of: a window on God

July 23, 2010 — Leave a comment

O Holy Spirit of God, abide with us;
inspire all our thoughts;
pervade our imaginations;
suggest all our decisions;
order all our doings.

Be with us in our silence and in our speech,
in our haste and in our leisure,
in company and in solitude,
in the freshness of the morning
and in the weariness of the evening;
and give us grace at all times humbly to rejoice in Thy mysterious companionship.

John Baillie

[Employ] arts to the glory of God — not just as tracts, but as things of beauty to the praise of God. Art work can be a doxology in itself.

Francis Schaeffer

Fire of the Spirit, life of the lives of creatures,
spiral of sanctity, bond of all natures,
glow of charity, lights of clarity,
taste of sweetness to sinners–
be with us and hear us.
Composer of all things,
light of all the risen,
key of salvation,
release from the dark prison,
hope of all unions, scope of chastities,
joy in the glory, strong honor–
be with us and hear us.

Hildegard of Bingen 1098-1179

This Week’s Special
When You give people Your breath, life is created,
and You renew the face of the earth.

May the glory of the Lord continue forever!
The Lord takes pleasure in all He has made!
