A day of grace

May 18, 2010 — 1 Comment

[don’t miss the second new post below this one. In fact, you might want to read “Umbrella Grace” first.]

God tells us every week we need to take a day of grace, a holy day, a day of humility and thankfulness for the good gifts God has given to us freely, unearned:
sleeping in,

a leisurely breakfast,

a walk in the woods,

or along the beach,

a day to enjoy and to savor feast food, not fast food.

“A purple sky to close the day
I wade the surf where dolphins play
The taste of salt, the dance of waves
And my soul wells up with hallelujahs

A lightning flash, my pounding heart
A breaching whale, a shooting star
Give testimony that you are
And my soul wells up with hallelujahs…”

Chris Rice “Hallelujahs”

[I can’t find a good youtube version of the song but his website has a sample.]

my favorite here is the feast food in a day of fast food of just functionallly stuffing ourselves quickly so we can get on with the business of work – the quick sandwich at the desk, the the hurried meal on the run. come – sit – eat -converse with me – make food beautiful nd not functional and eat leisurely with me :) elke

I'd love to hear what you are thinking...
