One for the road

I’ve been away from home these past few weeks, visiting my other nonheavenly home. Whenever I travel, I like to take one of the devotional guides in Selwyn Hughes’ Every Day with Jesus collection. It’s physically very small and light but spiritually rich.

There’s a passage to reflect on , a short meditation, a prayer and a few other passages for further study. I’m currently working through The Spirit-filled Life. One thing I like aboout these guides is that each daily devotion is part of an overall theme. In this one, Hughes will spend a half dozen days looking at one aspect of the Holy Spirit, then focus on another aspect. But even if you read them sporadically like I do, each day stands alone.

Snack bar suggestion: great for take-out to have a meal on the run.
